Teaching fly fish

...The toughest part of teaching someone how to fly fish is keeping them interested while they get used to the surreal act of casting a fly line.

HOWEVER.... catching a few fish shows beginners the rewards of sticking with the fly rod.

Trout follow their noses

Researchers in New Zealand say they have discovered crystals in the noses of rainbow trout that act as direction finders for the fish.

"We're not saying that rainbow trout are necessarily attracted to magnetic fields, we're just saying that they can use it. So if I was a fisherman, I probably wouldn't invest a large amount of money in a big magnet."

2006 FLY FISHING SHOW SCHEDULE

I was searching for fly fishing shows in near future.
I come across show schedule for year 2006 on flyfisherman.com/show
there are lots of them in March; a few on July, and none on autumn.
Don't people go for shows at the end of season?
I'd gladly cast a fly line a few times somewhere under roof on a middle of winter.

I'm wondering about fly tier shows...Although these events are rare, it is well worth being informed of when they are taking place.
